Faith was founded in 1990, by Richard and Danny Raposo. It was funded by their father, Mario Raposo who graciously promoted the band with much love and hopes of giving his children a future in music. At first, the band was know as "F8TH", consisting of three members. As time went on, musicians came and went, making it difficult to progress and succeed. Inclusively, the Portuguese community had much difficulty pronouncing the name. In 1996, the name of the band was changed to what it is called today: "FAITH". FAITH, during its many years, has shared the stage with many well-known artists, such as: Iran Costa, Agata, Edy Lemos, Lucas E Mateus, Luis Neves, Graciano Saga, Arlindo Andrade, Nelia, Alcides Machado, Chico Avila, Patricia Estacio, Evy, Michelle, Nuno Bettencourt, Mourico Morais, and Jorge Silva. The band now consists of seven very talented musicians. Richard Raposo & Jessika Pacheco share the center stage as the male and female main vocalists. The rhythm section consists of Derrick Pinhancos, drummer/b-up vocals, as he keeps the beat at a steady tempo while Danny Raposo compliments his rhythmic pulse on the bass guitar. Richard Raposo goes digital when playing that powerful brass or the ever-so-beautiful grand piano. Jonathan Vieira, guitar/b-up vocals, plays rhythm when he's not soloing and making his guitar scream. Tiago Goulart gives the extra kick, or smooth romance on the percussion. Cliff Vassal, on the saxophone, adds romantic feeling and funky soul to the mix. They have performed all over New England, and also Canada. Through close collaboration, they have become more than just band members, they have become very good friends. They spend much time together in the studio, cheering on other bands, and just hanging out and having a good time. Faith is always caught together at local ice cream shops, coffee shops, fast food restaurants, or just working on their cars. The band has ambitions of creating an album in the near future and to perform all over New England and beyond.
