Keto Candy: Make your way through the keto life!

What is Keto Candy?

Although there is no hard and fast rule, keto is all about living an extremely low carb, high-fat lifestyle. In general, persons on the keto diet aim for 20 to 50 grams of carbohydrates per day and no added sweets. That implies keto candy is low in sugar and rich in fat. Instead of glycemic-spiking sugarcane, keto friendly candy employs sugar substitutes like erythritol, stevia, and monk fruit, allowing you to enjoy a sweet treat now and then without jeopardizing your keto goals.

Types of Keto friendly candy

Taffy / Soft Chew:

If creating taffy or soft chew, continue boiling through the first boil phase until the mixture becomes frothy and foamy. Allow for an extra minute of cooking. Then turn off the heat.

Hard Candy:

To produce hard candies such as lollipops or suckers, continue cooking through the previous steps until enormous clear bubbles begin to appear. Remove from the heat and pour into the molds as soon as possible.

Medium Chew / Caramels:

Continue boiling after the first boil phase until the mixture becomes frothy and foamy to produce a medium chew. Cook for another 2 minutes, or until the liquid candy has thickened and you can see the bottom of the saucepan with a spoon. Remove from the heat and pour into the molds as soon as possible.

Hard Chew / Hi-Chew Candies:

Cook through the first boil phase and the frothy and foamy stage to produce a hard, chewy candy. Cook for a further 3 minutes, or until the liquid is thick and a ribbon forms when you remove your spoon from the liquid candy.

Basic Keto Friendly candy

To prepare the basic candy recipe, you only need three ingredients plus salt, which can be easily available.

Butter:

This ingredient adds fat and flavor to our confectionery creations. This is an essential component in caramels and toffees. Make careful to use unsalted butter, particularly since the candy recipe contains salt.

ChocZero sugar-free syrup:

This is the only syrup I use while keto meal prep ideas. Their syrup is sugar-free and sugar-alcohol-free since it is manufactured from soluble maize fiber. It has a thick consistency similar to maple syrup and comes in a range of tastes. In my candy recipes, I typically utilize Vanilla and Caramel. Their sugar-free syrups are an essential element that cannot be replaced since it acts similarly to corn syrup to prevent crystallization in sweet confectionery.

Flavour:

You may add any flavouring to your candy. To maintain the taste of extracts, add them immediately after cooking but before pouring them into the mold.

Sweetener:

To provide sweetness, a granulated sugar-free sweetener is used. You may use a monk fruit mix sweetener or allulose in this recipe.

Salt:

Adds taste and balance the sweetness of all forms of confectionery. To create that sweet-salty taste, we use only a pinch of salt while producing saltwater taffy.
