Throughout this blog you will find countless ways to loss weight. You’ll learn the in’s and out’s of nutrition (The 80/20 Lifestyle), the most effective and time efficient way to workout (Metabolic Workout), and the breakdown of how metabolism works and how you should eat and workout to make your metabolism work for you (Golden Key To Weight Loss #3). Because I’m a personal trainer I have to be up on the latest and greatest weight loss solutions. The number one secret that you’ve probably heard by now is that you mush create a caloric deficit in order to lose weight. In other words, you must burn or use up more calories than you take in or eat. You can create that deficit a couple of different ways; you can eat fewer calories or you can burn off those calories through exercise. I’m going to talk about expending calories through working out.
Running on the treadmill for 30 to 60 minutes, working up a good sweat, leaving it all over the treadmill and thinking “Now that was successful!” Yes, running on the treadmill does wonders for burning calories as does shoveling cow dung. I don’t particularly enjoy either, although I’ve never actually shoveled cow dung I can image the fun. In other words, running on the treadmill may not be as fun as it is beneficial and it could be damaging to your body as cow dung is to your nose. The impact your joints endure during running can cause some problems later down the road. Don’t worry, you still need to do cardio but it can be a lot more fun than this and you can get a lot more done (no pun intended) in a shorter amount of time.
Complex moves are exercises where you use your upper and lower body at the same time, jumping jacks for example. Jumping jack are great for getting your heart rate up, working your hip abductors and adductors, calves, and deltoids all at the same time. As a Personal training fort lauderdale I’m always trying to come up with exercises that meet the complex criteria; moves that involve the upper and lower body. Not only will the heart rate go up which helps boost the metabolism and strengthen the heart but muscle groups in the whole body are getting worked at the same time which drastically cuts down how long you’re in the gym. You have a busy life, spend your gym time wisely. Combine a squat with an overhead press or a lunge with a lateral shoulder raise or bicep curl. Get the legs and arms moving at the same time and knock out two birds with one stone. Get your workouts to the next level and stop wasting time and energy.
If you are trying to lose weight and running on the treadmill for any length of time is not your thing then try incorporating some complex exercises into your routine. These moves are challenging, time effective and great for the cardiovascular system and metabolism.
